handles are mounted and so is the weldless stainless ball valve. I boiled 5 gallons of water as a test with my banjo burner and it worked beautifully.. I did wind up steadying the keggle on the burner with some spare copper pipes I had.
I converted one of these Poly kegs to a keggle by removing the bottom and top rubber. there is a flat circular section at the very bottom that allows it to stand on it own. It fits nicely on my banjo burner without tipping.. It is a little more precarious than a keg with the metal chime along...
while cleaning out the inside, the top came off.. the handles were just on the rubber.. not on the metal... I guess they hope the glue lasts... It was on there good until I cut out the top.. so beware if you are doing this!! would have really sucked if it waited till I had a full keg of wort...
