    Grapefruit Ginger Cider

Mostly citrus flavor with a small amount of bitterness. It makes it taste closer to an IPA and less like an apple wine.

I've been aging a barleywine on oak cubes for six months

I've recently done a fair amount of research on oak (ie, not first hand experience), and what I've read is that the oak flavor will keep getting stronger the longer it's left in there. The rule of thumb is .5oz per gal, but I've seen recommendations all over the place. The biggest thing is that...

IPA Hop Schedule - Citra, Columbus, and Amrillo

So add 2 more oz of hops? Also, which would be a good hop for dry hopping to add more citrus flavor?

IPA Hop Schedule - Citra, Columbus, and Amrillo

Hi All, So I inherited a very old IPA kit (3+ years old) that contains 11 lbs of LME and a whole lot of hops. I know the hops are pretty much bad at this point, but the LME still seems good. I have some leftover hops from a couple of 1g batches, and wanted to replace the hops that were...

Gifted old ingredients, should I brew with them?

My bother in law was going to start homebrewing and bought everything he'd need to do so, but never actually started. He doesn't know exactly when he purchased the kits he had, but I was able to find some dates on items of November 2011. Everything is still sealed in the factory bags. I'd really...

    Breakfast Milk Stout Recipe

For the coffee, I was going to use 50g of my favorite breakfast blend (a medium roast that's very smooth). I'll see if my local roaster has any Sumatran or Kona and my go with that if they do.

Question about a used turkey fryer

Found someone selling a used turkey fryer for pretty cheap. It looks to have been used several and not thoroughly cleaned between uses. Any reason why I can't just take some steel wool to the alum pot to have it ready for brewing? Thanks!

What size partial mash and all grain can I do with my kettles?

Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for. Also- great tip on the cooling rack to keep the bag off the bottom!

What size partial mash and all grain can I do with my kettles?

So I currently have a 5g and a 2g kettle. What size partial/all grain batches can I make with this setup? As a note, the 2g kettle is much higher quality so it holds heat much better. I would assume I'd be using this to mash and the 5g for the boil. Thanks!

    Help with fermetation issue

My first beer was a brown ale. It started fermenting quickly, but then stopped after a few days. Beer turned out great; if I were you, I'd just relax and let it sit in the primary for a couple of weeks.
