    Beer In Alaska

Just got back from a whirlwind tour of south eastern Alaska. So I saw about .0000001% of it. Anyway, Alaska has a lot of beer. Most places we went to eat had many beers on tap, which was good. However, once I looked at the list I noticed that there were a bunch of IPAs, several beers with fruit...

"Saying it in your outside voice" Tips for new members/venting and/or entertainment for regular HBTers

@Big_D Your man-cave must be something to see if this is your homebrew setup.

"Saying it in your outside voice" Tips for new members/venting and/or entertainment for regular HBTers

I haven't been here for a long time, but I'd say take all advice with a giant bag of rock salt. I've had good advice and extremely bad advice. Luckily nothing has ruined my beer, but at least one batch suffered like a sickly orphan.

    Water Pots Smell Like Soup

I saw that thread. It was horrifying. Especially because at first I thought that was the chambermaid dumping somebody's effluence into the sacred brewpot.

    Water Pots Smell Like Soup

I use these pots (4 and 5 gallon) to heat strike and sparge water. My wife has used one to cook an s-ton of vegetable soup. I don't have any recipes that call for soup aromaticized water. I'm wondering if I should be heading to The Hague to file a crime against humanity report. This is a...

    Naming A Recipe

I think a brewer gets to name a recipe (attained from an outside source) when they change: a major grain type, a grain amount by a pound or more, a hop type, a hop amount by 2 oz or more (pellets of course - all the purists agree), or a yeast type. Anyway, I like to name my beers with...

    Buying Beer As A Homebrewer

@KyBeer I must remember that. It's axiomatic and will become my mantra.

    Buying Beer As A Homebrewer

OK, where are all the purists excoriating @225 for this heresy?

    Buying Beer As A Homebrewer

I'm afraid you forgot the words, "think they" right there in between "homebrewers" and "are". Let people have their delusions, please.

    Buying Beer As A Homebrewer

I've noticed on several threads people mentioning buying beer. This surprised me because one huge reason I got back into homebrewing was so that I would not ever have to buy beer again. Since I can make it cheaper and at least as good (and many times better) as store bought, I see no need to...

    Brewing After The Apocalypse

If I ever went to Thailand, I'd eat those sausages too.
