    carbonation, abottling issue?

    So I rechecked and couldn't repeat the affirmative test for leaking, so I did not recap or add anything...... I am so glad I did not, about 3 days later I had my very first bottle bomb!! So far no more, I am just gonna leave them to carb for a few more weeks and we'll see. I used about 50...

    So they are definitely leaking, tested it. Do I go through the whole batch , figure out which ones are leaking and recap any that are? Should I put more priming sugar in when I recap? Any other ideas? Thanks for all your help!! Claire

    Hi, I am still kinda new to brewing and am wondering if there is something wrong with my bottle capper. I am roughly 6 brews in and have noticed the last 3 that my brews are really undercarbonated. The last was a really basic brewers best weizen beer, fermented 2 weeks then 5oz priming...

    more yeast?

    Thanks guys. Indeed it was my refractometer inexperience. Hydrometer read 1020, works out to about 7%. Yay!! Next time I'll pay attn to the brix!! Gonna let it hang out in fermentor for a few weeks then bottle condition for a month or so. I'll let u know how it turns out. thanks again!!

    Sorry, idk y my last post came up again. I just got my refractometer last week but I checked it upon arrival and again today, it is correct.... I used hydrometer on brew day because i did not have refractometer yet but I am quite sure about the readings on both.......

    So after some time on boards I am considering few potential fixes, let me know what you guys think: Stir it.....do I need to aerate or avoid aerating? Consider temp, this yeast prefers 64-70F, I am in florida, I use ice packs in water bath for the first 3to5 days to try and keep temps down...
