To answer your question hornets are a bit bitter. So see bees for that matter. Probably not enough in there to change the flavour.

I am planning on bringing a keg or two of mead to an event next spring. Mead is already brewing. This will be my first time kegging anything. Can I get some advice from anyone else who has kegged please? I am interested in psi, line length and other tips you can give a newb to kegging. Thank you

Where did you procure the acacia honey from?

It's progressing nicely. I did use some yeast nutrient to keep the yeast happy. Primary fermentation is done. Now I just wait and make sure my air lock is happy.

Loveofrose, it gives very little flavour. It tastes like a straight mead with a different mouth feel from the starches. Mostly it's just coloring.

So very purple. I have a piece of oak sitting in it for now. I will figure out as I go if I want to flavour it further.

Time to let it sit and clarify.

I have one brewing currently brewing in my primary. I am using natural extracts from my local hbs. I will sample it soon. If I over did it I have no issue blending it with another mead.

I'm up in republic of boulder. Hour and half or so north of you. Brew buddies are always a good thing.
