Wine Conditioner in Strawberry Wheat Secondary

I've used this stuff for wine a while back. It is really really sweet, so watch what you are doing if you use it. +1 for not caring for its taste. I regretted putting it in my wine. I would just cold crash it and keep it cold once its in the keg. If your storing it, perhaps a campden tablet?

Ball valve on kettle, flow issues (bazooka)?

I use to... Throw hop pellets directly in my boil. Connect my counterflow chiller to the kettle valve with a bazooka screen. This equaled swearing, burnt flesh, frustration, 30 minutes of trickle draining, constantly scraping the bazooka screen and holding the brew pot above my head to increase...

What did I do wrong, or what is wrong with my setup?

I don't have the same type of setup as you do but I can feel your frustration. Its a tough road sometimes.. but you will get it all sorted out in the end. Some of the things that I do to help prevent a stuck mash (I've been there too. Who hasn't?) 1. Use some rice hulls. I sprinkle the...

How to label faucets when you have 8 beers on tap?

I found a picture of something similar to your granite handles in wood. It looks quite uniform - not sure that I ultimately like it though (don't know why). But I would assume the granite would look similar. I think you would have to get use to pouring beer by grabbing the top of the handle...

How to label faucets when you have 8 beers on tap?

How about setting up an LED flat screen behind the taps. Run it to a computer where you can run a slide show of the different beers on tap (say.. 8 scrolling screens). Each screen will show information about the beer and perhaps a picture of the tap handle that leads to the beer being...

    ventless condensation hood

kellzey....shhh.... TrainSafe, The reason I made that comment is because it is just easier to throw a fan up and a hole in the wall. I'm always a proponent of keeping things simple, and simple usually is best. However, in my case I had no choice. The system I built is rather 'simple' in my...

    ventless condensation hood

Yep, like Lucky_Chicken said, you can orientate this system anyway you want since your are forcing air/steam through an Open System. Unfortunately klyph, I think that the setup that you mentioned is a Closed System. A closed system like this would require a higher pressure within the piping to...

The cost of our hobby, dang dawg!

:o Yes. The pursuit of 'saving money' and 'diy' turns into a whole mess of odd components that cost a kings ransom.

    Westvleteren 12 bottle from 2003?

Hmmm, $40~50.. The monks at Saint Sixtus won't be pleased that someone is selling their beer for profit. I wonder if you will be cursed? I have a few 12s and 8s that I got from a trip 2 years ago and have one every now and then. They definitely mellow out some, but in all reality its not any...

    ventless condensation hood

9 ft ceilings. But vertical height is definitely not necessary for this, you could have the unit sitting on the floor if you wish. I only mounted my unit to the ceiling because I have no space in my tiny brew area since the water heater is in the way. Also, the ceiling provided me with a good...

    ventless condensation hood

Thanks guys! I didn't have a choice - I had to knock down all the steam vapor or I would be forced to brew outside. I like inside.
