What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Had this once at a bar in a little town in Indiana after a wine festival... The wine was excellent, but this beer absolutely tasted awful (your description is spot on). I thought at the time that it might have been because of all the wine, but now I see that it may genuinely just be bad...

Boulder Beer Planet Porter while I brew my Lando's Extra Smooth cream stout!

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Went to a Belgian waffle breakfast a while back, and a woman there comes up and asks me, "Are you Belgium?" There's also an awesome greasy spoon diner here with a "Belgium waffle" on its menu.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

You should give it a try. It's fantastic for what it is.

    What are you drinking now?

Ah, Lazy Magnolia. Love their southern pecan. The one in my "neck of the woods" is Bent River from Moline, IL. Definitely a contender for top brewery in the Quad Cities, in my opinion.

    What are you drinking now?

There's a brewery in my neck of the woods that brewed a sweet potato ale as their fall seasonal this year. It was amazingly good, tons of character and it almost tasted like sweet potato pie.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Man... I went to a small, private beer tasting once, and the guy manning the taps had a goblet of the stuff, drinking it like it was the finest beer he'd ever had. When I finally tried it, it tasted like beef bouillon. Absolutely disgusting, never been able to enjoy it since then.

    What are you drinking now?

Front Street Brewery Holiday IPA. Solid, slightly sweet, not much bitterness. Smells like grapefruit!

    What are you drinking now?

Jealous! Had that beer in Jackson; it was almost good enough to make me want to move to Mississippi. Almost.

Anheuser Busch and their deceptive marketing

I'd never tried High Life until recently, but it turns out it's the only beer my Father-in-Law drinks... so last time he visited we grabbed a six pack. It's surprisingly good, considering how cheap it is. Also, it's the champagne of beers, which is, like, scientific fact.

Anheuser Busch and their deceptive marketing

One time, in college, I drank too much Bud Light and it made me sick. AB sux! Also, those pop tabs on the Miller cans don't work all that well. Showing people opening the cans with keys, now that's false advertising.

Anheuser Busch and their deceptive marketing

Now we're going off of the deep end. It's one thing to dislike AB, and it's your right to do so, but this just veered into Occupy Beer Store territory. Wonder why there were so few breweries? In 1980, homebrew had only been legal for two years. Guess who was responsible for ensuring that...

Anheuser Busch and their deceptive marketing

It always sucks to see your old favorites changed in ways that you find unacceptable. That's why we have so many "I love the [insert decade here]" shows on television. Thing is, these breweries are just as much part of the sale as the company that buys them. I'm willing to bet they made the...
