Just moved and have a grape vine, now what?

I don't know about there, but here in TN. the next door neighbors would probably know what kind of grapevine it is. In any case, I would keep it, and if you can't ask and find out now from neighbors, etc. , maybe when the grapes ripen, you can post pictures on here so some of these nice people...

How many gallons of Skeeter Pee have been made.

    3rd batch just about clear. We did 16 gallon Lemon/Lime this time. 373 + 16 = 389

    Too large a jug

Those 3 gallon jugs will still come in handy for experimental batches. :mug:

    Yeast Question

I just add the whole package to a gallon, and I think that's the way most do it. Yeast is pretty cheap. One package is enough for one gallon or up to 5 or 6 gallons of wine usually.

You have to watch for worms in cherries also.

Skeeter Pee - Starting with Dry Yeast

I've made 2 batches so far with a Red Star Premier Cuv'ee yeast starter, and when dry added Sparkoloid. The first batch was crystal clear in 10 days. I added the Sparkoloid to the 2nd batch Thursday night and it looks almost clear enough to bottle now, but of course I will wait a few days to...

Can't believe it, but forgot to sanitize carboy before racking wine into it

Just curious, but what do you clean them with?

And speaking as a wife, I agree, that's great advice! :mug:

Can't believe it, but forgot to sanitize carboy before racking wine into it

I agree. I do the same thing. Although it never hurts to sanitize, I think we get a little carried away with it sometimes. People have been making wine for 8000 years. Don't you wonder how they sanitized before we had all these modern day chemicals to do it with? My great uncle died at 92...

    Sugar Free ??

Could be. Heck, it's "Fruit in a Bottle". :ban: Only problem is I don't like dry wine, so I been thinking about back-sweetening my SP with Splenda.... Wouldn't that be "Diet Skeeter Pee"? :mug: Does anybody do that?

    Skeeter Pee sanity check

I saw 32 oz. Kroger brand today for $1.68. They didn't have the 32 oz. bottles of Real-Lemon, only 16 oz. and those were something like $2.79 a bottle, so I didn't buy any. Ya think they have caught on to us buying the good stuff for SP?
