    Fermenting water?

Survey says....Sounds like a bad idea. :) I thought that might give it an odd taste or not work well enough to be worth the effort.

    Fermenting water?

Has anyone tried fermenting plain water with yeast and sugar? Now that I have an empty fermenter I'm considering tinkering around with seeing what ABV% I can get like that. If it comes out around 3-5% then add a bottle of the rootbeer syrup and see how that is. Just wondering if anyone has tried...

CO2 refills in the Grapevine/HEB/Arlington areas?

I went to Paintball Players Supply today. They filled a 5# cylinder and a 20oz cylinder for $20. It only took 5-10 mins and back on the way. Phone Number: (817) 284-0844 Address: PPS- Hurst 813 Melbourne rd. Hurst, Texas 76053

CO2 refills in the Grapevine/HEB/Arlington areas?

Here's a post I just came across that might be of some interest to people around Dallas/Ft Worth http://www.micromatic.com/forum/us-en/kegerators-kegerator-kits-home/1732-co2-refills-dallas-fort-worth.html

    Regulator screw won't turn

What pressure does the high pressure side of the gauge read? Mine is now empty. So I'm wondering if it's something where the amt you can turn it is relative to the tank pressure. I'm just using a 20oz paintball cylinder until I can get to a place that can fill the 5# tank.

    Regulator screw won't turn

I'm having a problem with the regulator screw not wanting to turn past a certain point. I had the regulator on 20 psi carb'ing a keg. I then lowered the pressure to seal another keg. Now I can't get the screw to turn in more than past the 10-12 psi mark. I had this same trouble when I first got...

    Corny disconnect problems

Ok. Seems to be solved now. Stopped at walmart on the way home for a spray bottle. Put some starsan in the bottle and sprayed the top of the keg down. Turns out it was crimping on the hose rather than the flare connection like I originally thought. Luckily I have oetiker crimper and rings from...

    Corny disconnect problems

Yes. It's a flared connection on the disconnect. I'm not sure on the rubber tip. It was assembled when I received it and I just tightened it before attaching it. I'll check that out later when I get home. If nothing else then I'll check LHB tomorrow for one with a barbed fitting on it.

    Corny disconnect problems

I having an issue with the gas disconnect where it has a loud co2 leak around the threaded part of the disconnect. I've tightened it with a wrench and it still occurs. Would putting teflon tape around the threads help any? It sounds more like its coming from the threads than from the barb...

    Liquid in gas line?

I replaced the lid and post o-rings and its not leaking around the post any longer and I don't see any liquid in the gas line now. Although when I apply pressure to the keg it squirts a small amount of the contents out around the edges of the lid for a second. It doesn't seem to leak around the...

    Liquid in gas line?

Is it unusual to have liquid in the gas line? I would think so. I have the regulator connected to a 20oz paintball bottle that was filled at academy sports. I set it at 10-12 psi and opened the out valve on the regulator. The keg is filled with 5 gallons of water/PBW. As soon as I turned it on I...

    New kegging question

Question on carb'ing in the keg with priming sugar. I have a brewhouse cream ale thats been in the secondary for about weeks now. If I put the packet of priming sugar in the keg and seal it for another 2-3 weeks, would it be sufficiently carbonated and ready to server at that point? I'm...

Coor's Disposable Keg = Party Pig?

If there's not much of a gap between the size of the cartridge and the slot, maybe try wrapping something around it to bridge the gap like teflon plumbers tape?

    Interesting mashtun design

Would it be better to have the braid in a straight line as shown in other designs rather than coiled around the cooler then? I'm looking to make one of these over the weekend and would like to do it right the first time.

CO2 refills in the Grapevine/HEB/Arlington areas?

Can anyone recommend a good CO2 filling place fairly close to the Grapevine(closer to work) or Arlington/HEB(closer to home) areas in TX? The only mentions I've found so far are in Dallas and Garland. That's a bit further than I'd want to drive if it could be avoided.
