Fruit Wine - Is there an easier way?

Yopper do you keep the nylon bag with all the blackberry seeds and pulp in the primary fermentation vessel during the entire 5 days?

Fruit Wine - Is there an easier way?

Also, It doesn't say how much nutrient and what wine yeast to use? What did you use? Thanks again

Fruit Wine - Is there an easier way?

Yes! Actually I had your recipe open in another tab since it was the easiest one I could find lol. I agree using a mesh bag isn't cheating. But question: When I "Strain juice from jelly-bag and siphon off sediments into secondary fermentation vessel" Am I squeezing that mesh bag to get every...

Fruit Wine - Is there an easier way?

So I have made mead and hard cider and they have both turned out great. For mead I use the JAOM recipe (stuck to the recipe at first and then substituted blueberries for oranges in another version) both versions turned out great. (Grandma loves the blueberry version). And hard cider was easy. So...

    Racked too soon?

Thats 2.4 lbs honey per gallon. That seems a little low...atleast to me. Im not too sure if you racked too early, we'll have to see what some of the other guys think. Then again, I like my mead sweet. I looked it up, and it should be ok, it will just come out dry. And if you like it dry, then...

    Including something in the bottle...

My only concerns would be: 1) Sanitizing agent makes fruit unsafe, adding unwanted chemicals to your mead. 2) Sanitizing agent is safe, but fruit has a bad or aweful taste after sanitizing, which transfers to your mead. 3) Sanitizing agent is safe, fruit tastes ok, but it didn't do the job...

    Bottling, Corks, Corkers

Ok guys so I just bought a corker, corks, and started bottling my mead. I must say, I need your guys advice and knowledge. Questions: 1) What type of corker is best? Especially if im going to keep it for a lifetime. Im thinking about a floor corker since the one that I have leaves a deep...

    First Mead

Ferment in the jug itself. Do a search, look up the JAOM recipe, follow it to a "T". It will explain every question you have. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f30/joes-ancient-orange-mead-joam-45152/ This is a link to the recipe. Even though he calls it JOAM its JAOM. Got to the brew shop...

    Mold in Mead

    1) Did you sterilize the carboy and all equiptment you used prior to making the mead? 2) Did you sterilize everything you put into the mead when racking it? (the siphon, ect). 3) YoungBerry asks a good question, did you use an airlock? Was it used properly? I'd like to know how you got...
