New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Brewed this one mostly following the original posters modified recipe part way in to a tee except for hops. I did zero bittering or hops until wort cooled down to around 168. Mine is all citra and Simcoe. Dry hopped around the end of day 2 of fermentation. I left in plastic bucket fermentors (...

Lone drinkers - Has kegging been worth it?

I built my Keggerator for under $400. I just bought a used Keg and a two tap facet hose tank setup. Been running for over 10 years. I like kegging for a few reasons. Faster than bottling, can transfer right from my fermentor to keg and than put it on tap in Keggerator. After in the fridge for a...

    What's your favorite thermometer?

Yes, however, mine might be a little older so it is not braided. It has a more normal rubberized coating over the wires. I also added some high temp silicone tubing over it as well.

    Old Yeast

Well I got it kegged chilled and carbed. It turned out fantastic. Its a Citra?simoce hop bomb. Becase the hops were 4 years old I ended up at .5-1 oz extra at each hop addition. Wow, its hoppy and fantastic. Came in at 6.5 ABV with the old yeast.

    Make IPA Clear Again

That would not make sense because the IBUS are too low. I prefer a typical IPA with some crystal 40 added and a 60 minute hop addition and lots of late additions. Just put one on tap that is all citra/simcoe. At first I really liked the Hazy IPA's but I am growing tired of them quickly. I do...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I brewed this recipe last night using the orignal posters updated recipe except I used Citra and Simcoe because I already had those on hand. Added them at 160 degrees after the boil. I did no 60 minute additons and only boiled for 30 min. I wll be adding hops to the fermentor tomorrow evening.

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Hard for me to ferment anything over 70 degrees. My basement is usally between 65-70. Does this yeast ferment quick at that temp?

Help me build a low stress e-brewery

I did the 3 vessel Sabco brew Magic before and it's just takes too long to clean 3 heavy vessles plus all the plumbing and fittings. That is why I would choose the single brewing a bag/basket.

    So.... how do you chill?

My keggle gravity drains into my counterflow chilller then from there into my fermentor. It takes me about 20 mintues to drain the entire 11 gallonsthrougy my chiller. So I have to throlle the water way down and I have a ball valve on the end of my output hose I have to turn to almost shut. When...
