    Oxi Clean

I noticed the slimy feel too. It seems to come off pretty easy with my sinks spray attachment. I'm hoping that works well enough for the carboy.

    Oxi Clean

I just used Oxi Clean to clean brew equipment (pot, bucket, carboy, etc). I knew it was ok to use for cleaning but I just read there's different types and I should have been using Oxi Clean free. The tub I have has a yellow top (I was supposed to be looking for green?) but also does say...

    Airlock shenanigans.

I actually did try to pull it out but it was being rather resistant to my efforts and I didn't want to damage the gasket. Since I was snapping the lid back on anyway after checking I figured leave it in so I don't have to mess with it again. Lesson learned.

Because I like them (I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to beer though) and also because it looked like a pretty simple starter kit, not a whole lot of frills.

Hi there, new to the forums and new to home brewing. Tried my first brew almost a month ago after seeing Alton Brown's Good Eats episode on beer brewing (which I've since learned wasn't the most, ah, "normal" way to do it). I got a basic brewing kit and an LD Carlson English Brown Ale...
