    Beer not carbing

As I recall, some of the bottles felt maybe a little slick after 2 rinses. Perhaps I added too much Oxyclean. I'm leaning more towards this possibility.

    Beer not carbing

I'll have to break out the old hand capper and experiment with a couple. Thanks.

    Beer not carbing

Now this is a possibility. I delabeled the bottles using oxyclean free and rinsed twice as I usually do. Maybe I didn't get it all. Any possibility of saving it if this is the case?

    Beer not carbing

I have a pretty nice capper that seems to operate smoothly, so I don't believe it's that, although possible. I did try some different caps in order to eliminate that possibility. I believe that it came out around 8-9%. White labs says it can tolerate 10-15%, so if my math was off by a percent...

    Beer not carbing

This is what I did recently over the past few weeks.

    Beer not carbing

Brewed an ale a few months ago. Cold crashed about a week @35 or so degrees. Bottles with 4.5 oz or so of corn sugar. 3 weeks later, beer is flat - just a slight psssft and absolutely no carbonation. Let sit for perhaps 3 months and still no carb. Thinking I somehow screwed up and forgot to...

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Or for about the same price ($19.95 including shipping) you can get this one from tejassmokers.com - model number CVO250 I believe. I'm not sure if one is better than the other.

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Are you looking for one like the one that I purchased?

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

I suppose it would be best to know the W/C coming out of my supply line. I believe that the BG12 produces 55k BTU's when operated on propane. Since NG produces 15% BTU's compared to propane, we are looking at 46,750 BTU's. Depending on supply pressure, according to these charts I should...

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Yeah, maybe the lack of roar is throwing me off. I just need to test it and see what it does.

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Not yet. I suppose that would be the best way to test it.

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Any opinions on drilling out the orifice a little larger? I'm hesitating a bit because I of course don't want to screw it up by opening it up too much. The flame does not roar like it did with the propane. What do you think? Should I be happy with the flame that I have or open it up a...

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Thanks! I'm still wondering if increasing the size of the orifice is going to give a better output. I've seen on here where others were drilling the hole out to 1/8" for natural gas but this may have been for the larger 10" burners. The one that I'm using is the 6". Right now its not...

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

    Sounds like a good solution.

Switching to from Propane to natural gas

Here's a photo at night with the needle valve wide open. I was able to adjust the air to get a fairly nice blue flame that rises up in the shape of a cone to a height of about 6". How does this flame look? Do you think that the orifice needs to be opened up a little more?
