I can never wait overnight. My ritual since my first batch has been carb for one week, put test bottle in for 2 hours, consume. Let it condition in the bottle for another two weeks and then I try not to be tempted and let the rest sit for 3 weeks in the fridge.

Worst commercial beer with a reputable name behind it: Natty Greenes Wet Hop Southern Pale Ale. Granted it was during a beer tasting in 90 degree weather, but it tasted like stale urine (no idea what that actually tastes like). Worst overall: Coors Light, alluminum flavored creek water.
Just brewed a 3 gallon porter on thursday evening, and a 3 gallon A.P.A. on friday. I had to get all of my brewing done before the girlfriend arrived from out of town for the weekend. So I have a few weeks to relax and just enjoy my previous batches.
