Correct, have tried with and without the wall-wart. With the wall-wart I fry the sensor and without it I'm drawing too much current from the Pi (Pi shows the lightning bolt).
I found what appears to be a similar experience here and I'm starting to think I have fake sensors.
Hello,
Hoping someone can provide some assistance.
I'm using a Raspberry pi 2 and and Arduino Uno. I have Raspbian Jessie and the Brewpi software installed and it runs (script runs etc..) However, I can not get a temperature sensor to be recognized no matter what I try. I bought a pack...
Who Dey! Killed 2 homebrew kegs last night watching the game. I can't relate to the 3 tier system you have there, but getting water in my HLT as I type for a DIPA brew tomorrow. Brewing for a second weekend in a row, Can't say that's happened in a long time. Cheers!
Thanks for all of the input. My brew room is in the basement and the grain will most likely end up in a storage room down there. The temperature in the storage room stays fairly constant but it does get a little humid. I think I will opt to get this grain opened and into buckets with gamma...
Thanks for the input that sounds like the best option for specialty malts and I'll probably do that but I can't see myself vacuum sealing 150+ lbs of base grain personally.
Glad to hear this worked out well for you. I didn't have much doubt that storing the grains in a fairly controlled...
Looking for some feedback from the bulk grain buyers. I was able to get a good deal on some bulk grain recently and have been contemplating how I am going to store it. I have enough 2-row right now that it will probably take a little over a year to use and I've decided that I will store my...
Thanks for the heads up on the NKY Brewer's Guild/Braxton grain buy. I looked on the NKY Brewer's Guild facebook (I don't actually have a facebook account but was able to see the site) but I couldn't find anything referencing this. If anyone has any info about this group buy or who to contact...
Hello all, I am making the transition of brewing 5 gallon AG kits to 10 gallon recipes. Does anybody know where the best prices for bulk grain around Cincy is? Are there any group buys that go on around here? I'm half way in between Dayton and Cincinnati but willing to travel a little if I...
I'm going to go a different route here because this sounds very similar to what I see time and time again with my beers. I almost always drop a few more points when I transfer to a secondary. My gravity can be stuck for 4 or 5 days but when I transfer to a secondary the disturbance of the wort...
Sorry to resurrect an old thread (maybe its not dead but rather still bottle conditioning :cross: ) but just curious how this turned out. I'm in Seattle for a few days and picked up a few bombers at a local store to try....Needless to say, I just started google-ing "High Water Brewing Campfire...
Thanks for all of the feedback everyone! I definitely have some thinking to do now. Its good to know at least 1 person has had success using a male compression fitting, but those fittings look really nice Bobby_M...decisions decisions....
Hi Kal, yes, that is exactly what I mean by the "typical way" I guess the main reason to avoid the nipples would be cost....I can get 5 of the 1/2" Male NPT to 1/2" tube for $35, or I can get 5 of the 1/2" female NPT to 1/2" tube for $70. I'm actually building a Kal inspired system with BCS...
Looking at my current setup (only single vessel at the moment) it appears that my valve doesn't go past the first few threads. So I don't know that I will have the same problem of not having enough threads. Maybe that is just this 1 particular ball valve though..I've read that with NPT...
Hello, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever connected their ball valve on the outside of their kettle directly to a compression fitting with 1/2" Male NPT threads on the inside of the kettle? Basically not use the 1/2" nipple that is typically used with weldless fittings. I want to use...
