Recirculating Dry Hops: More Aroma Oil Extraction in Less Time

Are you referring to a container inside the fermentor, such as a hop bag, or outside of the fermentor, such as Sierra Nevada's hop torpedo? I'm sure there are a number of ways you could experiment.

Recirculating Dry Hops: More Aroma Oil Extraction in Less Time

It seems I am unable to edit the original post at this point, but wanted to update the URL of the blog post. Here it is: http://metabrewing.blogspot.com/2013/02/recirculating-dry-hops-extract-more.html

American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

I'll 2nd what makubex said regarding the attenuation of Conan. I've never had it attenuate under 1.016 from any yeast supplier, even when over pitching an active slurry with plenty of pure O2 on a low gravity wort mashed at 148°F and fermented at 68-70°F. The attenuation numbers on the Gigayeast...

Cell Count of White Labs Brett vials?

It would seem that Wyeast puts substantially more brettanomyces cells in their smack packs. Jason did a cell count of Wyeast at 68 billion cells for brett brux. That would put it at roughly 25-38x more cells than in a White Labs vial.

anyone ever use gigayeast Vermont IPA yeast?

Are you referencing the ambient temperature of your fermentation chamber, or the temperature inside the beer while it was fermenting?

Adding minerals to R.O. water: does the order matter?

I'll reply to my own question because Martin Brungard was nice enough to answer it, and I thought that it might help someone else who might have the question Martin's answer:

Adding minerals to R.O. water: does the order matter?

I use the donation version of Bru'n Water spreadsheet to calculate my brewing water profiles, and I always use 100% reverse osmosis water and build the profile (my municipal water switches wells throughout the year, so this provides me a reliable starting point). The additions I use to build...

building brewing water from reverse osmosis (RO) water

What R.O. system are you using? I've never heard of one getting to 100%. That's serious. My TDS comes in at about 185 ppm and leaves the R.O. at 12 ppm.

Bottle conditioning using Prime Dose tablets

If the beer is even lightly carbonated, pouring the contents of the capsule will cause it to gush because the sugar will act as a nucleation site for the CO2 in solution. Dropping an unopened capsule should be okay, but then you'll have undissolved vegetable capsules in your beer.

    Prime dose

No idea. I didn't ask if any other entity was involved. I was told, however, that they have pulled the product from the shelf and will be working on coming up with a new method to deliver yeast/sugar together without the use of the cellulose capsule. It seems that the cellulose crystallizes...

    Prime dose

EDIT: I reached out to Northern Brewer about it, and they told me that Prime Dose is actually a product they developed. So, if you have issues with Prime Dose not dissolving, I would reach out to them about it.

    Prime dose

If anyone has luck tracking down a phone number and/or email address for the manufacturer, it would be great if you could post it here.

    Prime dose

I have the same lot number and manufacturing date, and I just purchased a couple of weeks ago from Northern Brewer. They were unresponsive to my inquiry through their contact request form online.

    Prime dose

There is no contact information for the manufacturer.

    Prime dose

Do you know what the manufacturing date is on the bottle that was part of the bad batch? I just purchased some and used them, and am wondering if I have that batch or not. There is zero information on how to actually contact the manufacturer.
