What to do with a batch you don't like?

So basically I tried experimenting a bit with some recepies, and it didn't work so well. Batch didn't get infected, anything like that, I think it was just a bad recipie. I went for really hoppy, but this batch basically is drinking Chinook straight off the vine. Best way I know how to explain...

    message to other beginners

My advice to beginners is to dont even attempt to brew without having a wort chiller. I never realized how long these things can hold temp without an external help. My first brew I got my boil done and was like "uhhhh". I live on a lake, so I set my boil kettle like submerged like 3/4 of the way...

    Controlling Attenuation Through Mash Times

My first all-grain is having some attenuation issues. Getting stuck around 1.025. Honestly though I'm not stressing, still tastes great. Basically it's just about a bit over 4% ABV versus 6% like I was shooting for. The hops make up for it though and the average person wouldn't even notice the...

So I ended up stealing your general idea, but modifiying it slightly. But I picked up some Chinook and changed it up. Went with: 5lbs pale ale 3lbs pilsner 1lb vienna 1lb crystal 2oz Chinook, 60 mins. 1oz Perle, 40 mins. 1oz Citra, 10 mins. 1oz Citra, 5 min. 10 days later, my FG is only at...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Just want to throw in a satisfied post. This design worked better than I possibly imagined. My first all-grain experience was amazing! Don't think I'm ever going back to extract. This process is so much fun and more invovled.

I'm honestly just really exctied for the Citra. I like to support my LHBS, so I don't like to buy my hops/yeast online. Hardware that they don't have, I will, but they finally got some Citra in last week and it's almost gone, I bought the last 3 ounces they had lol.

What came in the mail for you today?

Just arrived from UPS about 20 mins ago, taking the brew game to the next level! Wort chiller, barley crusher and a refractometer. :rockin: - That garage wall next year is going to be covered by 3 second year Coloumbus and and 3 second year Nugget. Can't wait for some production! Onto big things.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

I bought all the parts for this, and put it together. For some reason I couldn't fit the washers on very well, so I just said screw becuase it was holding water fine, and then just reinforced it with a butt load of teflon tape. Works perfect.

    hop fertilizer

I moved mine from 5 gallon buckets a couple days ago into to a bigger 30 gallon tub. The reason I moved them was because I was getting shoots through the bottom of my buckets where I drilled holes. If you do move them, do it very, slowly when you tip you 5 gallon bucket to get your plants out. I...

    Propagating from Hop Cuttings

Yeah I just was guessing with this project, first year hop grower and first time trying any of this. I didn't know how much to reasonably cut, but overall it has been a success. Basically, I took a few clippings of hops that I dropped off at my dads (thankfully I did... they're not looking...
