New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Just a quick note on how this turned out. I ended up essentially replacing Galaxy with Columbus per the original recipe. Mashed at 155 as opposed to my first batch at 153. I'm loving the results. Was a little disappointed at first as the taste was a little harsh. But after a few days it is...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Thanks for the feedback on adding some dank hops. I'm leaning toward 1:1:1 Citra, mosaic, Columbus for my next batch with all four additions. Hopefully that will give a nice fruit/dank balance

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Thanks. I was planning on using the same hop schedule. FO, steep and two dry hop additions. Any thoughts on ratio of Columbus to other hops

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Brewed this exactly as posted but had to sub for Galaxy as it was not available. Used Pacifica in its place. Best beer I've brewed to date. Honestly, it's better than any ipa I can find locally. Anybody try a version of this with some dank hops? I'm planning my next batch and was thinking...

    Head Retention

Thanks. I will trade cleaning with TSP before next batch. I have seen mixed comments on skimming or stirring hot break - it there a general best practice on this? It is fully carbed, and has been in the keg for over a week. Is it possible that additional time would help?

    Head Retention

No, the system was brand new. Cleaned with the recommended barkeepers friend on the stainless and then rinsed thoroughly. Afterward did a water test which circulated hot water throughout system to test control and determine boil off rate

    Head Retention

Its kegged. Same set up I've used for many batches without the same issue. PSI set at 12 Thanks for any help

    Head Retention

Recently completed my first all-grain biab batch. Brewed a Belgian Blonde. Overall I'm happy with the beer for my first batch on this system, however there is absolutely zero head retention. I'm trying to figure out what may have caused this: 1. During brewing a made a couple of mistakes...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

Finally used my system for the first time. This was also my first all grain batch. Overall the system worked great. Very easy to use and work through all the steps. That being said, I had a couple of challenges with my process. First, it looks like I overshot my initial water volume by 1.25...

Unboxing the Nano from CO Brewing

I just received my 15 gallon home system. Couple of questions: Is the basket supposed to have feet? Or does the bottom just sit on the elements and temp probe? The recirculation arm attachs with a screw. Is There supposed to be a hole for the screw to go through on the basket/kettle? The...

    Bready/toasty Pale Ale

So I just went to my local home brew shop and tried a few different steeping grains. I believe the dingman's biscuit, briess victory toasted and caravienne all fit the bill for what I am looking for. Was thinking is using pilsner extract along with these grains. Was thinking 8 oz, dingman's...

    Bready/toasty Pale Ale

Hello. I am looking to brew a extract american pale ale type of style that has more of a bready/toasty/grainy malt taste as opposed to something sweeter (caramel) tasting. I am open is to any suggestions and do not have a recipe worked out to this point. My only other though at this point is...
