Just saw this post. I emailed Jeppe about the same recipe a while back. He replied with the same grain bill and also said the beer is "20 IBU, most late and dry". He also said use 1056. Pretty cool brewer to respond for sure! I hope to brew a batch once it gets warmer out.
I am brewing this excellent beer for a second time, the wifey says it needs to be the house beer and she isn't even a hop fan. On an earlier post Skeezer said you can use 4.75lbs of 2row and drop the extract to 3lbs. If I compare buying 5 lbs of crushed 2 row at $9.20 or 3lbs of DME for $11.99...
Thanks for the reply, I am around a 3.5 gallon boil (3 after loss) so I will keep the 60min addition as suggested. I added an additional lb of DME to raise the OG to 1.065
What is your opinion on this hop schedule which got me to 51.7 IBU?
60 mins 1oz Citra pellet
20 mins 1oz Citra...
I have some citra hops en route, can't wait to brew this. Any ideas on why the hopville (5 gallon boil) numbers are so off from the extract recipe numbers? 87.3 IBU, 1.058 OG?

I brewed this using all Amarillo and it is excellent. This is only my second batch of homebrew and everyone who has tried it liked it. I will definitely make this again, thanks for the great recipe!
I brewed this on Sunday and looking forward to it. I had trouble steeping the grains right at 155 with a turkey burner (first time without a stove). I then proceeded to have a a boil over so it was an eventful day. I used Wyeast 1272 since I have read people really liking it and the fact it...
I am waiting on my brew kit and the ingredients for this tasty sounding recipe. My questions is I think the torrified wheat isn't milled from my source. Should I put it in a blender or mash it up with a rolling pin in a plastic bag or what? Thanks in advance.
