Flappy IPA (stealing the wine term)

Thank you for the feedback. One last question, are the water profiles offered by brunwater (pale ale) suggested averages? I knew the gypsum and Calcium Chloride were still high but with distilled water in order to even come close to their suggested profile I had to add the epsom salt AND...

Flappy IPA (stealing the wine term)

I took some pretty heavy criticism over this recipe. I actually took it from a book from a recently published respected home brewer. That aside, I agree with the folks who are saying my issues rest in the water chemistry. I've done some research (downloaded and piddled with the brunwater...

Flappy IPA (stealing the wine term)

Help, IPA's are "Flappy" or dull, lacking that crisp bright finish like some of our favorite West Coast versions. What could be the cause? I keep things clean, treat my water, use fresh ingredients, pay close attention to mash temps, make healthy yeast starters, regulate fermentation...

Wedding brew help!!!!! (Labor Day 2017)

Thanks! I have had excellent luck with Saisons as well. Is 3711 spicy or fruity at lower temps? My plan is to make a few Biab's and let them choose.

    Help, wedding brew advice!

My sister is getting married! She wants me to make 25 gallons of beer (22oz bombers) for her wedding favors. She and her girlfriend are a house divided. The fiancé likes ipa's, and my sister likes less hoppy beers. (She's not apposed to hops). This would be considered a wedding gift. My...

What to do with a Cream Ale

I've had a cream ale with vanilla and coffee steeped after fermentation. The coffee wasn't ground at all. The vanilla was simply sliced open.
