    i was thinking about adding a vanilla bean to the IPA i am about to rack to the secondary.....how did you make sure it was sanitized? Boiling seems like the obvious way, but will that ruin the flavor?

    I've brewed a beer that i'm not satisfied with :( It was supposed to be a pale ale, but it is unremarkable at best..... I got a little too intoxicated while brewing it because the wife was out of town and it came out......well......weak......underhopped.....it has a butterscotchy...

    I'm feeling better about this after reading some of your posts.....:tank: I felt like it was OK, but i have never brewed a beer this heavy and didn't know if it was normal to see such a long, active, fermentation. thanks, all....:mug:

    i've not taken any readings yet....the bubbles coming up the inside wall of the carboy make me believe it is still active......is there another reason it would still be producing CO2 bubbles?
