    First IPA recipe

AGREED! Learned this with the last tripel my brew pal and I put out. At first taste, the alcohol was so overpowering we nearly spat it back out. We let it ferment in a secondary for a good amount of time, let it condition in the bottle and a few weeks later, vuala! Success! Excited to crack...

Relaxing, and having my own FIRST homebrew

That hiss is the most uplifting sound, to me anyways, when you first crack open a new brew. Then to see that perfect layer of head on top of a perfectly colored home brew is downright poetic. Anyways, glad your first one came out nicely! :mug:

    Looking for a newbie recipe

You'll bring the water to 150, then add the grains and malt, keeping it below 170 as Maddoghoe said. Once the bag goes in it's pretty easy to keep the temperature at a constant. Keep an eye on your thermometer and watch for boilovers. Enjoy!:mug:

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Also doing a saison on Wednesday! Really excited to get this one through and into the primary. Planning on a Christmas Ale soon as well.
