Has anybody used a Brewjacket Immersion Pro with an SS Brewbucket

Mine’s actually been working well. I’ve done about 5 brews with it and have had no trouble keeping the wort at 65 or lower in a non air conditioned garage with temps getting into the upper 90s. It seemed to have a harder time heating but I was using a sleeve on the rod which may have affected...

    Lost My Head

Sorry I wasn’t clear the grain bill I have was for the pale ale I currently have on. The Wit was about 60 % wheat. The brew day was just a comedy or errors. I had meant to brew the day before but the weather didn’t cooperate. I had company coming over the day I actually brewed and thought I’d...

    Lost My Head

Thanks for all the suggestions. I’ll order some new beverage line today. It’s a shame I didn’t ask this a few hours earlier. I put in an order at MoreBeer yesterday morning for some other stuff. I could have got free shipping!

Thanks that’s easy enough to try. Dumb follow up question do I need 10’ for gas, liquid or both?

    Lost My Head

The grain bill was 11 1/2 pounds of two row and 1 pound of caramel 60. It’s a new kegerator so the lines are what came with it. I’d say 3-4 feet.

    Don't Do That.

I just love that I’m not the only one who does this stuff. I seriously think this thread has stopped me quitting the hobby on more than one occasion.

    Lost My Head

I’m not sure if this is a brewing issue or a kegging issue so posting here. The last batch I made was a disaster of a Belgian Wit I named What Wit Wrong. The brew day was a train wreck, I had too many things going on and wasn’t focused enough. The beer was….not good but when I first kegged...

    Don't Do That.

I swear at least half my posts are in this thread. Got a new kegerator and decided to salvage the Co2 tank and regulator from the old one that just died. Cut the gas line off from the regulator without confirming that I’d disconnected the keg first…..don’t do that. Showering in Belgian wit is...

Has anybody used a Brewjacket Immersion Pro with an SS Brewbucket

Thanks for the help. We had a pretty cold winter and the fermentation temperature dropped into the 50s so I ended up running a space heater near it for a few hours a day. I gave it a couple extra weeks before kegging and it turned out to be the best beer I’ve ever made. Will definitely get...

Has anybody used a Brewjacket Immersion Pro with an SS Brewbucket

It seems like it’s doing a little better now. It’s holding at a little over 63 degrees and bubbling away . I’ll just let it ferment a little longer to account for the lower temp. Maybe I’ll buy the neoprene jacket for the bucket before my next brew.

Has anybody used a Brewjacket Immersion Pro with an SS Brewbucket

Thanks. I think the mini is 9” shorter than the full sized version so maybe that’s my problem. If the temp is down any further when I get home maybe I’ll look at some kind of heating belt to supplement it.

Has anybody used a Brewjacket Immersion Pro with an SS Brewbucket

Santa brought me a Brewjacket Immersion Pro and an SS Brewbucket for Christmas. I brewed my first batch for them yesterday. The Brewjacket is supposed to heat as well as cool. I pitched at 68 which is the target temp for the recipe. The unit is set to 68 and I can hear it working but when I...

    Substitute Corn Sugar for Candi?

Thanks guys. The recipe sheet says light Candi sugar not dark so hopefully it won’t make too much of a difference. The price issue does annoy me though. I got the kit for 20% off which is really the only reason I got it. I’m thinking maybe they did the substitution to make up the difference...

    Substitute Corn Sugar for Candi?

Thanks, I would have made a trip to the local shop if I had to but it’s kind of a hike so I’d rather avoid it for just one item. They describe it as kind of a caramel colored lighter version of a dubbel. It’s mostly Belgian pils with some biscuit and caramel malts as well.

    Substitute Corn Sugar for Candi?

So I’ll be brewing Monday and ordered an ingredient kit from NB. According to the recipe there’s supposed to be 1lb of Belgian candi sugar as a boil addition but they shipped a pound of corn sugar instead. I’ve used corn sugar for bottling before but never in the boil. Are they interchangeable?
