    So who's brewing this weekend?

    Last night I brewed up a batch of a Belgian Wit recipe I had. It's good to be brewing again after a several month lay-off.

    fermenting problem?

    I did a German Wheat on Sunday, and had fermentation going full Monday AM. Checked on it yesterday and it was slow (1 bubble every 5-7 seconds). This morning it was stopped. I was planning on letting it sit today and checking SG tomorrow. I too have everything covered. Good yeast (not dry)...

    How quick is pretty quick? Most stovetop ng burners have a high range of 15,000 - 16,000 Btu and my Charbroil propane grill has a side burner rated at approx. the same. Both can boil that much water within 20-30 minutes. The turkey cooker is probably your best bet for the speed you seek and...

    First brew next weekend.

    I used a kit for my first brew and it came with a muslin (like cheese cloth) bag that I put my grain and the hops in just like a tea bag. It made it soooo easy. Future batches that aren't a kit I plan to use a combo colander (spaghetti strainer) and a mesh strainer.

    Good luck with your first batch. My first batch is in the fermentor (plastic 6.5 gal)since Saturday night. I'd say that all the advice I have seen so far is correct. READ READ READ, SANITIZE, and RELAX. So far, soo good. We will know for sure next week when it is bottling time.
