    You still buy Beer

Oh my, $12.00 for 12 empty bottles. My LBS sells cases of 24-12oz bottles for $13.90. And I thought that was a rip off for empty bottles. You just made me feel better about the prices I pay for my bottles.

    Confusion from HBS

I was aware when I started this kit that it is intended for a 6 US gallon batch. It makes 5 UK gallons. I was told by LBS that I could do a 5 gallon batch with it but it would make the alcohol content higher because it would not have as much water. I personally prefer the higher abv as long as...

    Confusion from HBS

You did things pretty much the same way I did. I am not one to worry about the color of the beer as of right now I just want a good drinkable beer. I left it in primary for about 5 days them moved it to secondary for another 5 days then bottled it. From what I understand you don't have to...

    You still buy Beer

My husband and I drink mostly what we brew. From what I read on here I am beginning to think I am the odd wife lol I brew the beer for my husband and he makes wine. This is a hobby we both enjoy, I get to wip up something new in the kitchen and he helps me bottle it. We don't buy much beer or...

    Just wondering......

I have recipes in a note book and keep track of every thing in the note book. If i have more than one brew going at a time (and I usually do) I put a post it note on the fermenter or secondary with the beer name type gravity readings and brew date, secondary date what ever info I need.

    Confusion from HBS

I have made that kit my self, mine finished out at 5%. It is a good beer but not as light in color as u expect it to be. It is great with a slice of lime in it like Corona. Sorry my pic turned out side ways but u can see what the beer will look like any way. I made it by the directions but...

want more kick to my brew

Decided to go ahead and bottle this brew instead of doing secondary. If I figured the alcohol right it finished out at about 7%. It had a nice taste to it just needs to carb up.

want more kick to my brew

Gonna be moving this brew to the secondary today, have to test the gravity and see what it is because I haven't touched it since I added the malt.

    Coffee Drinkers

I usually start my day with around 8 shots of Geovalia(probly spelled wrong) espresso that I grind my self with a little milk then brew a pot of French Roast or Columbian coffee. I drink coffee most of the day and roll over to home brewed beer or wine in the evenings. I spend the day clogging up...

Fermentation took of quickly with the malt addition. I will monitor the batch and give up dates as it goes. The original alcohol content for...

want more kick to my brew

I haven't added the malt yet. It is the powdered kind and yes I plan on boiling water then melting the malt in to the sensitized water. Thanks for that reminder tho.
