    metallic taste

are the yeast storage jars glass or something else? do you have a lot of hop debris when you reuse it? where are you getting your RO water? i've read stories of guys getting it from the grocery store and the filters need to be changed, so not really getting RO water. have you changed your...

    Recipe showcasing Amarillo hops

I've use Palmers APA recipe from How to Brew and changed the late hop additions to Amarillo. I adjust the weight of the hops to maintain the same IBU as the original recipe. for steeping/whirlpool or dry hop you can do a 1:1 substitution. the same method should work for the two recipes you...

    Founders Solid Gold

I dont know where you live but my local grocery store in Illinois has 30 packs of PBR on sale this week for $13.99 or 3.88 cents per ounce. Solid Gold is on sale as well $13.99 for a 15 pack. that's exactly half the price. If you are paying 6.5 cents per ounce for PBR, you are doing it wrong.

    Founders Solid Gold

I think you are joking, but in case not PBR is like half the price, once for ounce, what do you consider a premium lager? when was the last time you bought or drank any macro beer? for the price it's a little cheaper than imports like heineken, stella or dos equis. bud, miller or coors you...

    Founders Solid Gold

i bought a case. think it was $15 for 15 cans. I wasnt too impressed. Very similar to a retro beer in taste and the can design. Personally I'd just get a 30 pack of Hamm's for the same price.

    Kettle size

Ideally a 6 or 7 gallon kettle but those don't seem to exist. I have a 5 gallon for indoor stovetop BIAB and an 8 gallon for outdoor with a propane burner. 1.050ish session beers are doable in the 5 gallon. For an IPA I used a pound of DME at knockout to boost the OG.

Help with BIAB setup in apartment

I have an 8 gallon Bayou kettle I use for BIAB and there is no way it would fit on my stove with a microwave over it. if you just have a hood it might work but seems overkill to me. A 5 or 6 gallon kettle would be best for you, even if you have to use DME for bigger beers. session beers...

    3 gallon Fast Ferment conical?

I'm confused by the product description. Is it made for 3 gallon batches or 1-2 gallon batches? "FastFerment has designed a smaller fermenter that offers the same advantages for 3-gallon brewing. The smaller size is perfect for making 1 and 2 gallon batches with plenty of headroom for beer...
