Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

Matt and the team are the best! I've been using LP for wine supplies for quite a few years. Since the death of AIH I have also started using them for some beer supplies as well. Prices are competitive especially when they have sales, shipping is fast, and the people are just great to work with!

Same here. Fooled me one too many times... Fortunately there are still other options that focus on customer service from the get-go and not just when they're trying to save face.

This is exactly my take on it as well. It's ironic that the ridiculous increase in emails following the takeover is inversely proportional to their ability to adequately fulfill orders. I now receive about 8x the number of emails from AIH/AHS, their orders take about 8x longer to ship, and it...

Sadly, this is what I have experienced and also what I am hearing from the majority of others. Take a look at product reviews on the AIH/AHS websites from before the takeover and after. Products that AIH and AHS always took the time to carefully prepare are now coming with missing parts, broken...

Unfortunately you would have wasted a 3 hour round-trip drive. They are now shipping out of the Northern Brewer warehouse in Minnesota. They're replying to emails now, which is nice. They have been stating 4-5 days processing time, but some people have been waiting weeks. It's all over the place...

Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

I recently placed a couple orders with RiteBrew (one of them was placed AND received while I was still waiting several weeks for my AIH order to ship). They're my go-to source for ingredients and other homebrew stuff now that the "new" AIH has taken a thousand steps back. It's a shame that NB...

Same here, Alex. Didn't honor my points even after sending out the email saying we should now see them. Sorry you're dealing with the same. Fortunately there are still a few great options out there to support now (RiteBrew, Atlantic, GF, LP, etc).

Yes, they are operating both AIH and AHS now, and unfortunately the customer service of both have tanked. You got your order in less than 2 weeks, from what I have experienced and heard from others, you're actually one of the lucky ones 😆

The AIH/AHS customer service was second to none. I am beyond sad to see them go. The new team isn't even making an attempt at keeping up. Bump in the road or not, they're clearly putting the old AIH/AHS customers last.

Agreed. It's not so much the delay that bothers me, I could deal with that if they communicated and showed an ounce of care for their customers. But they purposefully promoted sales to charge for orders they knew they wouldn't be able to fulfill, never communicated to their customers, and then...

Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

I did ask them about the points, but unfortunately it didn't get me anywhere. If I didn't have such a poor experience this time around, I may have been willing to give them another chance, especially considering NB is no longer part of AB/InBev. However, it still wouldn't have changed my mind of...

Joel, glad to hear you've have good experiences with NB. My opinion, which I am entitled to, is not based solely on this one experience. I used to order from NB until I finally got fed up with their high prices and poor service, and found suppliers who seemed to care more about customer...

I really wish I saw this thread before I placed my order a couple weeks ago. I've been a long-time supporter of AIH. Over the years, I have found them to have great products, reasonable pricing, and most importantly - exceptional customer service. I thought it was bizarre when I attempted to...
