looking for Westchester, NY distributor with 5gallon kegs

Last minute look for a keg for my kegerator this NYE. I haven't brewed in a keg in a while and my kegerator needs a beer. Normally I would get from Captain Lawrence Brewing, but they're closed today. Anybody know of any distributors around here that would have 5gallon kegs of beer? Thanks

    Champagne yeast + Graff = ?

Yea I agree with Kevin. I did do it with the Champagne yeast and it was not a pleasant finish. The dryness wasn't really the problem, but what made it completely undrinkable was the breadiness of the yeast. It was really unbearable. I tried several different things, including waiting, to try to...

    Corking Belgian Champane bottles

Just to dispel a myth in here, Champagne bottles or Belgians do not benefit from being laid down horizontally. The pressurization inside the bottle keeps the cork moist, so laying them down is not needed. It is only recommended for wine bottles as there is no pressure to do this. All my...

    A home brewer's milestone.

Wow, so glad I decided to comment in this post. The comment was written by a woman who never drinks beer and was commenting on the fact that the beer was smooth and didn't have the smack in the face hop character that too many American styled IPAs have. I take that as a very good compliment...

    A home brewer's milestone.

Re-read my post a few times and still can't find where it said 'giving away' and 'without licenses'. Maybe it's best we leave out the assumptions and focus on the topic at hand without sidetracking the original discussion.

    A home brewer's milestone.

A few weeks ago I had the chance to serve some of my beers to a few customers at a food stand that we were serving sandwiches at. Was the first time I was able to get true opinions from non friends and family. We had asked people to write in our guest book or online to give their real opinions...

    The great plastic cork experiment

I'm sure you all prefer to use the fancier looking Belgian style bottles, but I use Champagne/sparkling wine bottles with plastic corks and have never had an issue. I actually prefer the look of the Champagne bottles anyway. This was my very first batch and only had half dark bottles. Now I...

    New Perlick faucet

Ok, that's what I was thinking. The finish does look like it is done properly, so I am not concerned with flaking or any problems like that. I think I ended up paying around 40€ for it (~$55), as it was bundles with some other parts I received as well as some service. Right now I am...

    New Perlick faucet

Wow, good to know. Thanks Eric. I'm tempted to swap it out with one of my main Perlicks, but my anal retentiveness is struggling with the different finishes. Mine are SS and this is chrome. Now the flow control...how effective is it? Right now I run short beer lines with the mixer inserts...

    New Perlick faucet

Actually EFaden is correct. The shank length is required due to the cone shaped plunger inside of it. Below you can see. So the shank is specific to the faucet, as it is beveled inside to fit around the cone shaped plunger.

Priming and Bottling: Big Q, little q, HELP!!

Hei Kellarikalja- The first suggestion I would offer is to get a spigot onto that bottling bucket of yours so you are not dependent on a siphon to bottle. You can get one fairly inexpensive at Bauhaus that has an end to go right onto a hose. The second thing I would recommend is getting a...

    New Perlick faucet

Hello all. I stopped by the local professional beverage dispensing company to grab some parts I needed to split my regulators up so I could have an easy travel setup. While there, I asked if they had any simple faucets lying around I could have for my travel setup. Well he brought out a new...

Carbonator, CO2, Chiller, etc for Home Seltzer Tap

I have a two tap tower that I built in my home, and I use 1 for beer and the 2nd for soda. All you need is the c02 tank, regulator, corny keg and tap. No special taps needed, I use a Perlick 525 for mine, but any would work. Fill the keg with cold, clean water and put the gas on it. Shake...
