    Unexpected experiment in oxydation

My thoughts exactly! Nooner is obviously something different in his neck of the woods....

What size batches do you brew?

6 gallons if I'm trying something new, 12 gallons if I already know the outcome. Lots of times we will do 12 gallon batches. Start at 7 am and be done around 2.

How many pounds of spent grain do you produce every year? How do you dispose of it?

I dump them on our food plot for the deer. The deer love it, but in the end I get the best part of that deal.

    First ever beer.. Secondary fermentation

Most are saying it will be fine because more than likely it will be. You want to limit the amount of headspace because oxygen is detrimental to your beer. There is no benefit to your beer to leave it exposed to the oxygen in your secondary. If you have reached your desired final gravity you...

Rolling Kegerator - Ice, Moving Kegs and Other Question

I agree on all, but will elaborate on 3. Set the kegerator up the day before the party(24-36 hours), fill with ice, wrap in a blanket. Drill some holes in the bottom for water drainage. The day of the party refill ice as needed, remove blankets. Pull a beer or 2 off each tap before it kicks...

    Budweiser is changing it's name

I'll be there in 2 months for vacation on the lake. I will be sure to get a 6 pack of it if it's available. It'll look cool on the shelf!

Can the success of Heady Topper be repeated?

I agree on the time as well. I think they are both similar. Why visit 1 when you can visit three....why buy one when you can buy three. Also like I mentioned, I am not sure my taste buds can distinguish good from great. At least not enough to justify the time and money difference. I guess if...

Can the success of Heady Topper be repeated?

How does one go about getting these 'rare' beers. Only by standing in line at the brewery? I would love to try Heady or Pliny or any of them but I'm not really into the beer scene. Lol. It's not that I'm cheap but I have a hard time spending big money on a bottle of rare beer when I could...

    Extract, selecting the correct kind?

I thought I was reading the descriptions of lme on line from one of the major manufacturers and it said what was in it. Can't remember which site it was but it gave a rough breakdown. You should be able to find something similar to what meat cleaver posted somewhere.

    Budweiser is changing it's name

https://www.yahoo.com/news/budweiser-rebrands-itself-as-america-for-the-summer-151207717.html I think I'll change my name too. Captain Flagpants McPatriot-Panderer.

Lots of foam with commercial keg

It's also possible that the temp at the top of the keg is warmer than at the bottom. Maybe a computer fan to mix the air up a bit.

    Cream of three crops, reversed

I will do the same next time I brew it. I did 50/50 last time, next time it will be 2lbs rice, 1lb corn. Didn't dislike the first one but agree with your original thoughts.

    Infusing fruit with Double IPA?

I was thinking a little more on this... Just because you received a IIPA kit doesn't mean you have to brew a IIPA. Cut back on the malts and hops and make a balanced pale ale. Use the leftover ingredients in a future beer...it's not like you're never gonna brew again! Problem solved!! You...
