I built a syringe contraption to inject some fining agent into my fermenter. I have ~10PSI in my fermenter.. You wouldn't think that would be much to override..
Without thinking, I casually clicked the syringe onto the gas post. I was instantly met with a PSSssssst and the plunger shot...
OH changing the thread search to use 'syringe' found a discussion on the matter. Awesome! Thanks!!

I dont *think* this is a stupid question.. if it is.. please ignore :)
I use an all-rounder fermenter that has the liquid and gas posts. I ferment under pressure (~10psi) and really don't want to crack the lid to put in a fining agent.
I am wondering if it would be practical to find a...
I was going to ask about this.. I have been looking for the Red Devil /90 TSP and cant find it. I assume it is no longer produced by them. I found the
Savogran TSP and was trying to determine if it is the same thing. Also I see the Lundmark brand. I cant see anythwere on the product where...
^^ what he said. If I understand, the goal is to create a 54" vertical column of liquid for back pressure. Can you get a piece of 4" PVC pipe, cap one end, and fill to 54" ?
I have one like you posted. It works just fine. No complaiints. I can't see an advantage of the Floatit to justify it.. Maybe others can comment on that.
My initial observance of the Floatit is that the Floatit tube isn't positioned below the float, but on the same axis. This would be...
OOOhh I was confused too.. The Floatit is on the liquid post in the serving keg. I always think of a floating dip tube as a feature of a fermenter to leave the trub behind.
I guess the solution in this case is to use a lid on the corny that has a liquid post where the Floatit can be...
I really like this. I recently picked up an Anvil Chubby on a black friday deal, and I think this would be far more pleasant to use than the Chubby is. After using it I thought about essentially doing the same thing to my Big Bubbler.
One tiny suggestion.. for the drill bits, if you have...
I have done the sous vide magnet trick with placing the hop bag in ahead of time and releasing them via the magnets when it is time.. It worked fine... I am not sure it is necessary.. but I was able to keep the lid on the fermenter.
Hmm I haven't seen that.. The tube end should be below the float... Maybe yours is not dropping down far enough? Your tube has a weight or a filter on the tip?
I did the same research. and ended up buying one of Bobbys' systems from brewhardware.. I think those spike kettles are used a lot because they are a very heavy duty kettle. I ended up going with a bag over a basket because of ease in cleaning, cheaper etc. I was wondering if I would miss a...
Yeah I should have explained my application... I am doing no-chill. I am not interested in a chiller (I have one but hate using it) I don't expect to cool the wort to pitching temp with the cooling paddles. I just thought that if I could accelerate the drop in temp to get past the danger...
