    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Just tasted after 4 weeks in primary. Hydrometer reads 1.016 for second consecutive week so I will bottle in the next couple days. OG was 1.06. Tastes a little 'hot' on the finish. Was expecting it to taste a little smoother and it actually did a week ago. I am a newby and followed the extract...

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

OK - thanks for the help. I used Denny's Favorite Wyeast 1450 and a starter. I had planned to primary for 30 days and no secondary as the original recipe suggests. Do you recommend a secondary?

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Very new at this and this is my second brew but could not wait to brew this recipe. Everything went according to plan until I got the wort into the primary, topped off to 5 gallons, and realized I was at ~82 degrees. I tried cooling the primary further but I had to leave the house so I...

1 oz perle at 60 1 oz perle at 30 2 oz cascade at 2 I decided to secondary for no particular reason except the experience. This is my first run. Bottling went fine. Carbonation seems to be great.

Beer tastes right, but finish is very light, thin - what's going on?

The problem is after the initial taste there is little or no finish after the swallow. Even Bud Light has a finish. Just trying to figure out why. This one noses and tastes fine and goes away quickly.

Beer tastes right, but finish is very light, thin - what's going on?

Here is the recipe. This was a Midwest kit so pretty straightforward. 6 lbs of light malt extract 8 oz. Caramel 10L 8 oz. Carapils 2 oz. Perle 2 oz. Cascade White labs liquid yeast Boil time: 60 min. Never occurred to me that over-attenuation or over-carbonation would be the...

Beer tastes right, but finish is very light, thin - what's going on?

Newbie. First home brew, a Sierra Nevada pale ale clone. Bottled 3 wks ago. Primary for 2.5 wks, secondary for 2 wks. Throughout process everything went as planned. OG 1.046, FG 1.010. Beer smells right, nice head, and tastes right. But finish is very light, thin, short almost like sparkling...
