Thanks all who responded, feels great inside knowing it wasn't a sign of me messing something up. I had heard about the krausen but in most video's i'd seen there was nothing like mine.

Just got done moving from my primary to my carboy and really am not sure what my primary is supposed to look like. This was using the Brewer's Best Holiday Ale Kit. There is a film surrounding the top of the primary and with a slight cake covering the lid.
