This is great information. I don't have the means to keg with co2. After going thru the process above. How would you recommend naturally carbing and bottling. Im doing a pilsner urquell clone with Wyeast (Urquell) and 1.052 OG
Hold the counter chiller in front of you then rock it around in a circular motion. Each rock should bring fluid out the exit. After about a minute almost all of the residual fluid should come out. Thats what I do. I also don't flush star-san thru before long time storage. Just boiling hot...
Yes the rubbermaid is fantastic. I couldn't believe the amount of heat retention.
I just made a keggle conversion for my boil pot. The only I don't like is the ungodly amount of heat you have to put into the thing. The size sure is a plus, but thats about it. Aluminum is lightweight and...
for more information about the physics of a ThermoCouple wiki "seebeck effect". Relates temperature to emf (voltage). V = (S1-S2) (T1-T2) where S1, S2 are the seebeck coefficients.
Hightech therm.
Probably need to wrap some clear take around the piece of Aluminum. Wish I made the copper pipe longer, but ran out of scrap and had to settle for AL.
I guess its vinyl tubing. Whatever is at lowes and homedepot that can be bought by the foot. I currently use it from my boil kettle to my CFC. Without any problem.
Ill probably try it out as a sight glass. Won't look at great but should function all the same. Definately won't break as...
Im not an EE, so hopefully someone more knowlegable will speak up. Ill try to get the ball rolling. I hope my explanation is correct...never dealt with this problem but maybe what I do know will help
The problem is that when your pump first turns on it pulls a high inductive load from the...
THis is sorta off topic. If you can't get the polycarbonate or pryex tube but still have the stainless steel fitting part. Do you see a problem with using clear flexible vinyl tubing as the sight glass on a boil kettle. Like replace the compression fitting with a nipple and attach with...
No, definately not residue from cutting. The coating is either something applied when the keg was produced or its a layer of oxidization built up over the 22 years of service. Don't really know. I did do some searching today and found that you can buy coated kegs, pretty much top of the line...
The keg should be SS.
Coating looks really dull, not shinny like the outside. It always scratched fairly easy with a screwdriver. This is my first keggle, never read anything about a coating.
