    Hex's Lautering Cane

Beautiful execution on both! Pardon my ignorance, but do these work like a siphon or do they require a pump of some sort? Also, I use a plastic bucket as a mash tun, and it only drops about a degree or two over an hour. Would my stainless steel pot loose more or less heat?

extra super hyper slow mash tun drainage

I love this forum! Had a trickle after only 10 litres yesterday, and another 20 litres to go. Quick forum search brought up this thread. Blew into the hose a few times, recirculated and went 75% on the spigot - no more issues. Thanks DrunkenDragon!

What did you brew this weekend

Bottled my first all grain IPA and brewed an extract wheat beer. I plan to add 4 pounds of raspberries to the secondary.

The boil went smooth and it is in the basement fermenting as I type. Have 1 oz Cascade for the dry hop, but considering getting one more... How...

    Please help in satisfying SWMBO...

My SWMBO is not a beer drinker at all, but she really likes the wheat beer I make. It's nice and light with a hint of banana and citrus flavours.

Looking for a nice and hoppy IPA

On my 8th batch of homebrew and completely hooked. Had some good success with a Wheat Beer, Porter, Nut Brown and an IPA. I wouldn't mind making the IPA a bit hoppier, so I am looking to the boards for some pointers. I have not graduated to all grain quite yet, so it will have to be an extract...

What are some of the mistakes you made...where your beer still turned out great!

Great thread for us beginners! Puts a lot of fears at ease. I'm only three bathes deep, but my first batch was a bit of a gong show. Started off boiling the wort on an electric stove. After almost 2 hours with no signs of boiling, I started racking my brain for other heatsources. Realized I...
