Well, this is gonna be interesting.

Wow, thanks for all the supportive comments, y'all. I'm on day 7 now, and doing good. I manage to keep pretty busy with various interests, so there's that. :) I probably won't be back much, but wanted to say thanks. -m

Thanks for the kind words, TasunkaWitko. Ah...I just found BierMuncher's thread. I'm not even in a psychological position to play with that sort of fire right now, but down the road, perhaps there is hope. -m

Well, this is gonna be interesting.

I've been a lurker here for quite a while, mostly read but have rarely posted. I started homebrewing in December, have about a half dozen beers and a batch of mead under my belt. I really enjoy everything about it - the process, the smells, the fact that I can have whatever style of beer I...

"I love bocks, I drink shiner all the time" is starting to piss me off.

<threadjack>You should remake it! And you should post the recipe! Partial grain would work, since I'm not set up for all-grain yet...</threadjack> -m

What came in the mail for you today?

I got my copy of the Homebrewer's Notebook - hoping this will help me document my brews better. -m

If we're talking doppelbocks, I feel obliged to mention Paulaner Salvatore. Mmmm, might have to put a doppelbock on the to-do list! -m

+1! When I was young, I preferred whiskey because that way I didn't have to drink a lot of fizzy yellow beer. Then I discovered Amber Bock on tap at the restaurant where I worked, and the world of beer was changed for me. -m

Brew day got postponed, trying again today!

Well, everything went pretty well I think. Shannon (my wife and assistant) started the yeast earlier than usual, and I tried aerating the wort for the first time, and wow, what a difference - the airlock was bubbling like mad in the morning! I think the portions of coffee and cacao nibs were a...

Brew day got postponed, trying again today!

LOL...yeah we can talk about pants all day long, but we all know what wifey wants, wifey gets. I got a stout going; wort is boiling as we speak. It's a partial extract recipe kit from Defalco's, the LHBS. I added a shot glass of cacao nibs at the start of the boil, and will add two shots of...

Brew day got postponed, trying again today!

Was planning on brewing batch #3 yesterday, but unforeseen forced labor got in the way - SWMBO had me hauling ~1000 sq ft of ceiling tile. Today I've told her I WILL brew. :D All the equipment is lined up in the dining room, ingredients are ready to go, I've gone over the recipe. -m

    Brewing attire?

Jeans & a t-shirt. Comfy is the general rule for me. Oh yeah....first post, been lurking for a couple months. :) -m
