    Sorry for the confusion. I thought I read 1.070 post boil. But now that doesn't make sense. I had what I thought was 7 gal going in to the boil. My brewpot happens to be just at 13 in dia. which makes for 1gal per in. of depth. 90 min boil with gal/hr loss. So I must has started with a lot...

    Short 1.040 batch

    I have had fairly good luck home-brewing some years ago, decided to make a Beire de Guard with WLP 072. Also my first all grain work. Found a 10 gal cooler/mush tun on ebay,etc,etc. To get to the point,I hit my boil OG at 1.070.was supposed to be 5.25 gal. somewhere I messed up on my water...

    Saison 180

    This should be interesting, put together a saison in Feb of this year. Wanted to let it sit for awhile to get gravity down-well I did that. More or less forgot about the batch. I took a gravity this morning, it was 1.002. Tastes like apple cider almost- like wine. Is it possible to finish this...

    Tubing size for blow-off

    My first wheat beer had a plugged airlock. I bought 6 ft of 1 3/4 " pvc tubing from McMaster-Carr. This fits inside the carboy neck. Or the I.D. of the tubing, 1 1/4", fits a 3/4" pipe coupling that goes into a grommet on a pail type fermenter. A small airlock bung will fit in the pipe coupling. :)
