Or put some tape on it to hold it down

It may be fermenting still, you should wait 3-4 days and check your gravity again...

Make sure your gas is off when you try to connect the gas side, it might make it harder to snap on.....

strange... are you able to press the center down on post of the beer out connection, try with a small screwdriver just to make sure the center pin isnt stuck..

Did you try reversing the gas/beer connections? Ive never had problems, sometimes they are a little stiff if there is buildup on the center post pin...
