    Glycol pump alternative

amazon has this from penguin for $60 https://amzn.to/37eXekH and it looks like spike has the same under their own name for $40 with that rate I figure there’s someone out there whose got it for $20... I don’t expect a pump at that cost to last 5yrs, but I also don’t expect the same from one at...

    Glycol pump alternative

I’m working on building a glycol system to chill fermenters looking at the expensive homebrew options out there and pumps run easily $40 for a submersible aquarium pump that affords higher head pressure while sacrificing lower flow. Since this pump will be in a cold glycol bath it needs to be...

Motorized Grain Mill - Monster mill MM2 - Reverse shaft?

Thanks Day_trippr! that worked like a charm. I also called Monster Mill just to make sure there would be no issue and he confirmed all was good. In all it took probably 10min of work. Cheers!

    Motorized Grain Mill shaft support

That sound expensive. Why not change up your hopper? Or slightly smaller sheave? I have a similar setup I’m currently building. I used a 10” sheave - this was enough for the clearance required.

Motorized Grain Mill - Monster mill MM2 - Reverse shaft?

I thought a few pics might help. This is the orientation I would like. I have drawn in the direction of rotation from the motor. I could flip the motor, but this would cause the depth of my project to increase. Any ideas?Again revering polarity doesn’t work.

Motorized Grain Mill - Monster mill MM2 - Reverse shaft?

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted. I am working on motorizing my grain mill but I have hit a small snag. My motor when looking at the face of the motor, the shaft turns counter clockwise. If I align the shaft of the monster mill in the same orientation, hooking up the sheaves...

Wisconsin FS: Two - 230v SS Center Inlet Chugger Pumps

I'm cleaning out my extra brewing stuff... (It's taking over my house - which I don't think is a problem but my wife does) If anyone is interested, I have 2 brand new 230 VAC Chugger Pumps (still in their original box). These pumps have the stainless steel 3/4" center inlet head and 1/2"...

    3 Kettle, 3 Pump Automated-Capable E-HERMS Build

Overall - I would call it a success I don't have the BCS fully programmed yet so I made a bunch of notes and now have a good idea of all the parameters and exit conditions I would be looking for. The way I have this designed the pumps need to be on to measure the temp. Because of this my mash...

    3 Kettle, 3 Pump Automated-Capable E-HERMS Build

Although it's a bit messy. I made a ton of progress. Panel is fired up and working. Valve manifold is assembled. Dry tests are complete. Adding H2O tomorrow running a few tests and if all goes well hopefully getting ~22lbs of grain wet to get some preliminary efficiency numbers.

    Bucks Electric Brewery

What types of glycol chillers are those... They seem compact enough for my needs. I would like to ditch the AC unit I'm repurposing now.
