    Man, I love Apfelwein

    I'm at 2 weeks now on my first batch. I drew a sample today and it tastes pretty sour. Is this a common taste this far in or is that a sign of possible contamination? Airlock is still bubbling once every 4 seconds or so. The apfelwein is still very cloudy as well

    Using unpasteurized apple juice for Apfelwein?

    Thanks for the tip on the campden tablets. I figured unpasteurized juice might not be safe to use. Are these tablets something I can pick up at my LHBS? I will be heading over there to pick up the Montrachet yeast and dextrose. Once I incorporate the campden, is it safe to follow directions...
