Ss Brewtech Brite Tank Review and Photos

I'm surprised 1 in 7 has a problem with carbing since "set it and forget it" gives perfect results everytime. Get the settings right and it'll always go to equlibrium. I suspect your capper. When you first fill the bottle and cap it, it's essentially at atm pressure, so when you turn the...

    Spike... I need a conical

On the Spike, I like the idea of being able to pull the lid off for easy access and inspection. Access seems more challenging with the SS unitank. Does the lid seal reliably?

    CIP conical process question

After CIP, I always strip down TC fittings and gaskets, soak them in PBW, and then acid rinse them (Saniclean solution). I have the SS BME 14 gal. There are some fittings on this conical, like the racking valve, that have pockets that hold debris even after after CIP I do not remove the coil...

    Spike... I need a conical

Has anybody seen both the Spike and the SSBT Unitank. Unitank has raised a few concerns about weld quality from what I can see on FB. Just wondering if anybody has seen both. I need to make a decision on which to buy.

    Propane Consumption?

I'm somewhat wasteful, as I heat my clean-up water in my HLT and BK. That said, I get 3-1/2 10 gallon batches per 40 pound tank. It dies 1/2 through the 4th brew. I do always keep a filled 20 pounder as a spare. I run two Blichmann burners, HLT - 20 gallons per batch, and BK about 15 gallon...

Not sure what to tell LBS

Maybe asinine, but probably not. For so many home brewers, the LHBS is like the back-up girlfriend, the girl you string along, with just enough incentive, that they'll be available in case your best girl can't deliver, is or unavailable. Most know how this works .... For Valentine's day, the...

Not sure what to tell LBS

I seldom use my LHBS, I don't see any benefit to it. They are not very knowledgable, and their prices are 1.5 to 2x those of online retailers. I never have last minute items to pickup because I plan my brews in advance, and I hold a large inventory of Grain and Hops. You want to help your...

Recirculating Dry Hops: More Aroma Oil Extraction in Less Time

torpedo, though I'm completely set up for the method you outlined since I copied mfabe 's CIP system. so I think I'll try your approach first https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=582434&page=3

Recirculating Dry Hops: More Aroma Oil Extraction in Less Time

Thanks for this post and for correcting the link. I've been thinking about this and you've provided my tipping point. Have you or others seen variations where the hops reside and are contained in a second container? Seems like it can keep a lot of matter out of the fermenter

    Spike... I need a conical

This is what I do to multifunction the one TC port on the lid of my conical. PRV on left, Pressure gage on top, on the right is a ball valve to allow "tool changes" without oxygen ingress. During fermentation, I connect a barbed TC with tubing to the ball valve for blowoff. Once fermentation...

    Ss Brewtech Customer Service

Bob, this comes off as you looking for a deeper discount for a minor inside sales related issue .. and when ownership snift that out, and didn't offer it, and essentially said, we don't care if customers like you buy from us, you were offended. Ownership probably weighed the prospect of...
