New equipment, when is it "to big"

I had originally thought this but I'm worried about the boiloff rate being to aggressive. On the other hand would be detrimental to over sparge to compensate for that? If I have to bring it up to 15 gallons to finish with a 1.050 og I don't mind as long as it doesn't mess with to much As for it...

    Honey Blonde Recipe Critique

Thank you all again for the assistance! I am glad I cut the honey malt down and upper the actual honey content. All in all it's around 5.5% and it was a huge hit with the wife and she is already asking for more

New equipment, when is it "to big"

So I'm finally upgrading my equipment on a pipe dream (just like many of you, but that's not the point here) from my 15 gallon pots up to SSBrewtech 50 gallon pots. The first one along with the NorCal parts arrive tomorrow for it to be a mash tun. Besides the fact I am still restricted to only...

Day 5 - Is my Scoby looking OK and Kombucha fermenting correctly?

Good! When it comes to mold or infection with konbucha it's basically a no brainer. You'll know that it's bad Best of luck and let me know how the finished product turns out!

Day 5 - Is my Scoby looking OK and Kombucha fermenting correctly?

Everything looks healthy to me and it's probably finished (or close) but personally I would take both small batches you brewed and use them as starters for another batch. Also possibly crank the heat (just put your booch in the warmest room in your house) It'll get everything kickstarted and...

    Blending Ciders

So after 4 weeks and an accidental cold crash (not that I'm worried, the temp in my garage dropped drastically and it snowed... again) I'm in the pickle of keg or age (or both?) I don't intend to back sweeten the cider or add anything to it at this point So if you were in my shoes, would you...

    Honey Blonde Recipe Critique

Would flameout and at the end of primary be the best time for honey? I've made mead but never added it to beer

    Honey Blonde Recipe Critique

I can cut it, I want lots of honey flavor but nothing so sweet it's like some of the wines she drinks. This will be my first crack at a light(er) beer I'll try the 8oz and go from there! Thank You!

    Did I create a monster?

While this looks like it could be a monster. It's only a 15 minute boil on the hops and if you love the flavor of it it'll probably be a good sipper. Plus it's only 1 gallon, so if it isn't "perfect" you could blend it into either another beer or make some beermosas

    Honey Blonde Recipe Critique

So the wife has really been starting to enjoy honey blondes, and the more of my beer she likes the more I'll get to make so I'm working on a recipe and could use a little critique on it, normally I just make higher ABV SMaSH beers and this is my first blonde So here we go! 5 gallons (7 gallon...

    Official Broken Hydrometer Count

2273 AND 2274 at the same time. Just yesterday I took a final reading on a stout and the first hydro rolled off the counter and shattered in the "protective" tube So I grabbed my backup and the dog bumped the wife who bumped the counter and timber... the second hydro and my test jar both in...

    Keg to bottle pressure question

After a few years of not making any kombucha I've grown a nice starter to get back at i and I'll pitch that soon Where my question lies is kegging/bottling. When I keg my ciders before bottling to help with back sweetening and not over carbing in bottles. Now because kombucha is basically...
