Just today I was 80 minutes into a 90 minute boil that seemed to be pretty tame. I have been using a fan to keep down the possibility of a boilover, didn't think to realize it was working, pulled the fan to put it away and came back to a boilover a doused flame. You think I would learn.
This info help immensely. I knew I had mold in the keggerator and was managing it, but the unholy mess that was in my picnic taps was incredible. Can't imagine it wasn't causing some incredibly bad off flavors.
I did this with 2 batches earlier this year. I can't say they were the greatest beers to begin with, but dumping them in the keg and carbing it from there didn't deteriorate the quality a bit. One keg took me 2 months to drink and I found no oxidization.
Got mine last night. I was looking for a good reason to check on the pale ale I have in primary. I have a feeling it is done, or at least I have ever since I opened the package.
