    Sierra Nevada Pry offs!

It's a good move for their sales too. I drink a lot of SA beers because of the pry offs. SN doesn't get a lot of drinking around here because of the twisters. :D

Stirplate on the way. Ebay, $26.00

Clean that thing carefully before you use it in the kitchen. I'm always very nervous bringing used lab equipment into my home. But I do. :D

King Kooker propane burner... reviews sought.

Are you talking about the Kick-A? It's (the "KAB4") been replaced with a new design ("KAB5")...likely because of all the failures with the first one...I made a thread about it yesterday... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=29292

    burner, getting warmer...

I have the burner in the original post, and I almost just bought another one at amazon ($39 free ship), but Home Depot had 'em for $45. They work great (I've only boiled 8 gal but it wasn't straining). Much stronger and I'd really worry about scorching and having to stir too much.

New stand for Kick-A Banjo Burner?

Had my LHBS do some calling around, it's apparently not available until June. But it's good news to hear anyway!

New stand for Kick-A Banjo Burner?

Also looks like it's 20psi instead of previously 30. Interesting if they heard the problems with the first one and changed it.

New stand for Kick-A Banjo Burner?

After this thread: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=28368&highlight=kick+banjo I was reluctant to try this burner. Took another look at bayouclassic stuff today and it looks like they've changed the design from the cylindrical rod stuff, and the new item number is KAB5 (vs. 4)...

    stoppers for yeast test tubes

For freezing at -20C (typical home freezer), and for volumes ~10-12ml or up to 50ml (roughly the size of a White Labs vial), I would use something like this: http://www.vwrsp.com/catalog/product/index.cgi?catalog_number=21008-940&inE=1&highlight=21008-940 ...with a screw cap. Also...if you...

    Long Shot Brew

Is there a recipe out there for the Longshot Old Ale? Loved the stuff. First high gravity brew I've been able to handle. The Dort was excellent also. The boysenberry wheat was decent, too fruity for my tastes (and somehow I'm turned off by the fact that it's an extract brew :( )

    184 Brewing Rigs -Beer Porn-

Wow...amazing thread. This link convinced me to keep it simple. I'm just about to build some sort of 3 vessel converted keg system, and this was just what I needed to look at. Brewing has to be fun or I won't do it...thus gravity flow with a minimum of things to sterilize/power/maintain/clean...

What kind of burner to get?

    Nevermind, found this thread. http://homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=28368&highlight=burner

What kind of burner to get?

You are talking about this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009JXYQY/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 ?? What was the problem?

    Beer Smith

Beersmith is modern and it's calculations are right on IMHO. Promash the software is very "old" feeling and too modular for my tastes. Never tried brewing based on it's calculations.

    Cheers from San Diego!!

Thanks Rich! The glasses are great....i bought them expecting mostly marketing fluff but they really are worth it! A good conversation piece also. They were worth the 3-4 week wait, and SA threw in a nice opener and a bag of hops for my trouble.

    Greetings from California!

Not that I'm in a position to welcome anyone here, but welcome to a fellow Cardinal! :D
