    Kegerator beer line lengths

The flow control faucets are definitely something that I have thought about, but are pretty expensive. I think at this point I will wait for the problem to exist, then look at longer lines. It looks like that by the math that I could do 6' (5.75' to be precise), yes as a minimum, but that might...

    Kegerator beer line lengths

Excellent, this is what I was looking for -not mere suggestions, but some numbers pointed at my setup specifically. TY I realize most people just say use long lines, but I really like to know how it all works. So I looked at my phone, and apparently I was actually setting it for a target of...

    Kegerator beer line lengths

I just bought new lines for my beer taps, as they were in real need of replacement, and when I measured the lines that I had prior, the numbers didn't match what I thought when I built the system. I thought that I had 4' lines, but when I measured them, they were 5'. I'm using the exact same...

    Mash and PH

I learned a lot from this post. I currently have the Water book by my bed table, and it's great but very technical. I like to learn for the sake of learning as well as knowing more about the whole beer making process, but I do take everything with a grain of salt (pun intended) when it comes to...

    Drying unorthodox-ed

Just did round two, my second harvest this same way, and had pretty decent results. Looks like only about 25% weight loss, but they feel dry as a bone, so I'm calling them done and will package them up tonight.

/bump for trying to understand Mash PH :o

    Mash and PH

I was understanding that lower than 5.1 PH makes conversion harder, but I got the best conversion I've seen in a while. Does this mean that my normal, un-modified water, brew days are even worse possibly because the PH could have been even lower than 4.8 -and the Gypsum was actually bringing it...

    Mash and PH

I've been AG brewing for a while now, but not paid much attention to my PH of the actual mash itself. I checked the water, but not while a mash was happening. Just to start off, I want to go ahead and say that this has been the most confusing piece to the brewing puzzle that I've encountered...

    Fresh Hop Beer suggestions

So an update: This beer came out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself. It has a really interesting melon flavor to it, which I have no idea where it came from on those varieties of hops. Though, I do remember having that taste in last year's wet hop beer. It's very light, and refreshing...

    Harvested, now what?

Alright, well i'm glad I didn't cut them off; I'm certainly going to get another harvest with what looks like more than I had the first time.

    Harvested, now what?

I don't have a way to put them back up unfortunately, the whole trellis fell down. So what I did, was lifted the trellis top and sides (including the strings which have the bines on them) up off the ground with 4 sawhorses. It has them about 3-4 feet off the ground but it's horizontal, rather...

    Drying unorthodox-ed

The total of all those bags was 72 oz wet and it dehydrated down into 12 oz dry I put them into 1oz bags. So did I dry them too much, or is that right?

    Drying unorthodox-ed

My goal will be to throw them in at the 10 - 0 min range with hopstands or to dry hop with them. Final count was approx 72 oz wet into 12 oz dry. I vacuum sealed and froze them today.
