    First no-water melomel. Any tips?

Thanks! That’a a good idea to put the berrys into nylon bag. So maybe first squeeze the juicy out of the and then put the skins and left of it in a bag. Then check gravity, add the honey and ferment it.

    First no-water melomel. Any tips?

Hi all, I want to make a no-water melomel. Aiming for that thick, black and juicy body (Sorry for that :D). I really like blueberrys so maybe that's the biggest berry ratio in it and then maybe cherrys or other berry. I did taste a cherry-blueberry melomel while ago and it was phenomenal. Some...

Filtering beer when transferring to fermzilla

Thanks! Good tips here. I have a filter and false bottom in the bottom of the grainfather and still there’s about 3 litres (0,7 gallons) of trub in fermzilla. I Also have a allrounder in use so the collection jar dump is not an option. After dry hopping there’s usually 6litres (1,4 gallons)...

Filtering beer when transferring to fermzilla

Thanks! I have look into those filters. Grainfather has it’s own pump so I would pump it to chiller and from there via filter into fermzilla.

Filtering beer when transferring to fermzilla

Hi So I’ve been thinking how to filter most of the hops after chilling it down and transferring One option would be to buy keglands 10” filtering system (Beer Filtering System 10inch) but does it work with room temp wort and is possible to install it into grainfathers counter flow chiller...

    Separate oat milk in neipa?

Hi, I’ve heard that some breweries use separate oat milk in their neipas. Has anyone heard of this? Maybe it’s DIY oat milk maybe not. Dont know but the question is what’s the benefit of doing this and whats the difference between mashing them in? And do we talk about steeping more than...

Where do you dump your yeast/hop slurry?

so where do you dumb your yeast and hop slurry? I live in apartment and it’s been a huge problem. I’ve tried to pour the leftovers into a grain bag and filter the liquid and then dumb rest of the yeast and hops into a eco trash. Liquid goes into the toilet. It’s a mess. Always.

    How to get lower FG?

That’s true. I thought the problem was my fg that’s too high but I didn’t know it’s ok to leave it that high. Thanks for all the tips! Let’s see how the next one one turns out.

    How to get lower FG?

    This could work!

    How to get lower FG?

This is optional of course. For IBU I usually aim for approximately 40 in that 6.0% beer. I’ve noticed that’s the sweet spot for me 🙂 Have done done with warm side (boil) hop additions and without it and this works quite well for me.

    How to get lower FG?

Great, thanks! So you think it’s ok to leave it that high? I mean does it matter if the fg is 1.026? I thought there was a reason/rule for keep it low. But if it matters somehow I’ll try your tips and try to find a balance between mash temp, yeast and lactose. Maybe I can drop it few points.

    How to get lower FG?

Thanks! But doesn’t low attenuation add more sweetness? So if I mash in 70c and use low attenuation yeast, it should work and add more sweetness to the beer?

    How to get lower FG?

Thanks! I’ll try this one. The goal is to have same or fuller body as my previous neipas (fg 1.016-18) but with more sweetness in it. I know it’s not possible but maybe to get it to 1.020 and still have more sweetness in it. I think I’ll pass the glycerin for now 😀 Btw what is the best low...

    How to get lower FG?

There’s no problem with my mashing temp. I mean, I’ve been mashing in 67c and now would like to mash 70c to get that fuller and sweeter body. How to achieve it when the fg rises? I tried to add some sugar/dextrose but it didn’t do anything for the fg.
