Anyone ever buy anything from this site? How was the quality? Was everything fairly fresh?
My local HBS stores do not sell pounds of a lot of the hops I use so I have been considering buy them from them for a while because buying by the ounce is just too pricey.
Also I have brewed almost...
kristiismean .... 95% of the beers I brew are IPA or Pales and your process is exactly what I usually do but had never heard of adding them as water is heating up for flavor and that is why I was inquiring.
Maybe I did not read something correctly but your original post noted citra and the recipe shows various types including magnum.
Did hops will provide different amounts of flavor/bittering. I have made the mistake before of just swapping one type for an other and expecting the same results...
RM-MN thank you for responding. Maybe I should of been clearer.
My initial thought was to swap the Munich for Flaked Rye then mash it. I am going to take your advise from the previous post just curious how this would of affected the brew.

Recently brewed this. Just tasted it the other day after 7 days of fermentation before dry hopping. Seems to be a good base recipe so figured I would share.

Over and over I am getting this distinguished taste that I am trying to eliminate in my beer. I have not been able to narrowed it down.
First, I thought it was a bitter taste from over hopping or to high temps.
Then, I noticed the taste and a little discoloration (multi...

After 5 weeks it has a very dry hoppy taste that is ridiculously strong. I do...
