I had success with my recipe at the beginning of this thread. A key is to use a german style wheat/wiess yeast. I prefer wienhenstephaner yeast but you could also use Munich dry yeast. Ferment warm. No too many spices.

I tried to recreate my favorite beer from SE Asia. I go there often and want to recreate the brew when I'm back in the states. I did a 90 minute boil and fermented with Bravarian Lager at 52 degrees but didn't get as much Lager profile as I wanted. Next time I'll use a Pilsner Lager yeast...
