If you don't mind a non uniform look when you drill your holes (I'm guessing they are 15/16"?) you can cut plugs out of the appropriate sized dowel to plug them. Fairly simple, but obviously grain and color and species of wood would not match.

Actually a accretion disk does form around a black hole which can eject material so it technically does fit. Not to mention I find it awesome.

Kind of looks like a black hole that bit off more than it can swallow to me :) however the off center axis of the ejecta does make it look like a pulsar now that I think about it.
