Hey guys, I plan on using this as my base recipe for a Peanut Butter Banana beer. Before I brew it, I was just wondering if you had any alterations to the recipe which you'd suggest in order to let the peanut butter and banana stand out more. Thanks!

Is the total IBU for the beer in the original post (32.1) the IBU prior to the changes in the recipe? I have triple checked that I have .75 oz. of 5.0% AA Goldings boiling for 60 min in Beer Smith, and I am getting a total IBU of 13.2.

What's up with the "Aroma Hop-Steep" next to a couple of the hops? Are those supposed to be steeped for 10 minutes or tossed in with 10 minutes left in the boil? Probably gonna brew this this weekend.

Is there a way to strip the outer plastic off of the temp wire that goes into the freezer or did I just order the wrong width of cord? The temp controller wires I've seen on here are all much thinner than mine. The freezer still closes with the wire going into the freezer, but I can tell that...

Thanks for the replies. I ordered the basic prewired ETC model from the RANCO site. I have had problems with ebay in the past, heh. I will simply be able to plug my freezer into it and then plug it into the wall and set the temperature, right?

Hey guys, I just purchased a chest freezer, CO2 tank, and regulator today to finish up my kegging system. I kegged my beer and have it in the freezer, and now I realize that I need a temp controller (I guess I didn't do thorough enough research). I looked around on some threads in these forums...

I think after 3 weeks of primary fermentation it is finally done. Took a while but I got my grav down to 1.021 from 1.063 so I was pretty spot on with yours. Will be adding the puree once I can find it somewhere. edit: I'm ordering a can of the puree from homebrewers' outpost right now...

Were you guys sure to add a significant amount of yeast (add more wort to your liquid starter several times to increase the cell count) or did you find that one package worth was sufficient?
