    You see that's what I don't think I'm quite getting. I worked it out to be 1.040 for a 1 gallon batch. When you make a 5gal batch you only boil 3 in the wort and then top it up in the fermenter don't you? The recipe has 40 gravity points (using the ppg) and a lot of water boiled off in the wort...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

    Mines 'Drunken Dwarf Brewery'. As I'm 5'1", stocky built and bearded, and love fantasy dwarves. Also the theme for my brew names too, I'm working on a mead called 'Copperhead Gold' atm, a reference to the dwarf mines in the Copperhead mountains from Pratchett's Discworld series.

    A less profesional, production type label than there seem to many many amazing examples of here, but this is mine design and applied. Would appreciate comments :)

    Hey all. I'm a beginner so not quite sure which part I'm not quite understanding, so I'll waffle a little about the whole thing. I've had a go at the extract kits and while all went fine, it was just an hour of sterilizing to tip 2 cans into a bucket. Quite boring and at the end, not really...

    Here's the ones Im using for variations on my ale. One oaked and one spiced with christmassy flavours :) ... btw, Im 5'1", stocky, long haired and bearded, hence it's Dwarven Ale ;)
